Privacy Policy
Effective Date: 01/18/2024
This Privacy Policy explains our practices concerning the collection, utilization, and sharing of information obtained through our online interfaces and digital assets (e.g., websites and mobile applications) owned and overseen by Night Bright, Inc. (“Company,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), which includes the website www.nightbright.org (collectively referred to as the “Site”). The Site serves as a platform for qualified charities and other entities (“Fundraisers”) to raise funds from Site visitors (“Donors”) by soliciting donations to support their organization and/or mission. Additionally, it provides related services collectively called the “Services.”
By accessing the Site or utilizing the Services, you consent to collecting, storing, utilizing, and disclosing your personal information as outlined in this Privacy Policy. If you disagree with the terms presented in this Policy, we recommend discontinuing your use of the Site.
I. INFORMATION GATHERED
We gather "Non-Personal Information" about Site usage and "Personally Identifiable Information" regarding Site visitors. Non-Personal Information encompasses automatically collected data that cannot be used to identify you personally. This includes anonymous usage data, general demographic information, referring/exit pages and URLs, platform preferences, data generated based on submitted information, and the number of clicks. Personally Identifiable Information encompasses data that Site visitors submit to us, which can be used to identify or relate to a specific individual. This includes information submitted by Fundraisers (such as name, email, postal address, telephone number, organization name, billing information, and campaign details), information submitted by Donors when interacting with Fundraisers (name, email, postal addresses, and other information requested by Fundraisers), and contact information if you reach out to us with an inquiry (email address, telephone number). It is important to note that we do not collect payment information from Donors. Donors wishing to make a purchase or donate funds to Fundraisers are directed to Stripe or another third-party payment processor, which handles collecting and processing payment information.
We employ cookies and similar technologies to gather aggregate Non-Personal Information about Site usage by all visitors and facilitate remembering user preferences. We monitor the information your browser or our software application provides when you access or use the Service. This information includes the referring URL, the type of browser used, the device used to access the Service, the date and time of access, and other data that does not personally identify you. Cookies, which are small text files containing anonymous unique identifiers, are sent to your browser from our servers and are stored on your computer's hard drive. They enable us to collect Non-Personal Information about each visitor and maintain a record of their preferences when using our services, individually and in the aggregate. We utilize both persistent and session cookies. Persistent cookies persist on your computer even after you close your session, while session cookies expire when you close your browser. For instance, we may use a persistent cookie to track whether you have previously visited Night Bright, so we can provide you with basic information about our Service on your initial visit. Additional information about cookies and their functioning can be found at www.allaboutcookies.org.
We allow selected third parties to employ cookies on the Site to gain insights into Site usage or user demographics or to deliver relevant advertisements.
These third parties may collect information about users' online activities across different websites over time when they use our website. Additionally, we may permit third-party service providers to use cookies on our Site to perform analytic or marketing functions. For example, we utilize Google Analytics to collect data on Site usage exclusively to improve our Site. Google Analytics does not collect any personally identifiable information, and we do not combine the information it collects with personally identifiable information. It is important to note that we do not recognize or respond to "do-not-track" signals from web browsers.
